Loved your DTS? Why not join DTS staff?

You’ve heard it dozens of times… “God changed my life on DTS! DTS is amazing!”  I know I’ve said it, and if you’ve done a DTS, you probably have too. Well, why not be a part of seeing a new group of young people have the same incredible experience?

As a DTS staff member, you have the potential to be one of the most significant people on someone’s journey with God.  You act as a mentor, friend and encourager to a DTS student during an intensely important season in their life. On DTS staff, you’ll have the opportunity to share your experiences, disciple others to grow closer to God and draw out the potential you see in your students. It’s an incredible position of influence…not to mention heaps of fun!  Playing games, being a part of exciting events, going on overseas outreaches and just having fun with a community of people from around the world—it s a chance to get to do all the things that you loved about DTS…again!

We’re looking for DTS staff to join YWAM Brisbane staff for our February 2010 DTSes. We have three different DTSes running during this time:

Frontiers DTS- For students who want to experience different cultures and “extreme” missions/pioneering in unreached nations

Beach2Bush DTS- For students who want to camp and travel in the country and coastal towns of Australia

Sports DTS- For students who want to combine their love for God with their love of the game

Although these DTSes begin in February 2010, we would like our new staff to arrive in Brisbane in early January. As part of the DTS staff experience, you will also receive leadership training with our Basic Leadership School. The Basic Leadership School requires that you make a commitment to staff two DTSes here in Brisbane. The only prerequisite we have for YWAM staff is that you have already successfully completed a DTS.

Called to Youth Ministry?

Are you passionate about seeing this generation of young people experience God in a powerful way? We are looking for fun, dedicated and visionary people to work with our GO Teams department and help disciple kids and teens here in our local suburbs of Brisbane…

As part of our GO Teams youth ministry staff, you’ll have the opportunity to influence youth as a “big brother or sister” by setting a strong example of what it means to know God in a real and intimate way. You can show young people how to develop their gifts and encourage them in their dreams and goals for the future. Connecting with both Christian and non-Christian youth on a daily basis, you have the opportunity to inspire them to seek after “something more” –whether it’s a brand new faith in God or a deeper, more committed walk with Him.

And there’s never a dull moment when you’re doing youth ministry with YWAM Brisbane! Every day has the potential to be new and exciting, as you will be able to meet and mentor young people in a variety of different contexts. Here are just a few of the cool things you can do…

-Facilitate youth camps, Mini DTSes or short term outreaches for high school students

-Lead a special focus workshop (in music, acting, dance, skate, sport, cooking, etc) during our weekly youth outreach, “EPIC” (ages 11-17)

-Build relationships with students during Breakfast or Lunch clubs at local schools

-Teach Religious Instruction classes in local schools (public and Christian)

-Do YWAM and missions promotions in local schools (public and Christian)

-Being an MC of our weekly youth outreach and get kids excited about the games and activities

-Facilitate fun and games for our weekly children’s program, “Go Kids Club” (ages 5-10)
