During the School of Digital Filmmaking, you will be equipped with the tools necessary to push forward in a career in filmmaking. Upon completion of the course the student will have the opportunity to pursue an internship with a professional TV or Film production Company.
The School of Digital Filmmaking Australia is beginning to develop key contacts within the film industry to facilitate the first steps of internships. We are working with a growing number of film directors (mostly our former students who are now directing their own films) in opening opportunities for practical training in film sets.
Or you can choose to pursue an Internship with our onsite production company, “The Initiative.” An internship with The Initiative lasts for three months, focusing on further preparing the students for work in the film industry and developing their personal creativity. The Initiates will be required to make several short films, helping them to learn the craft of filmmaking in their particular area of interest. They will learn how to manage time, working with deadlines and under the structure of an independent film company, while getting valuable experience making short films and developing their own demo reel.
These internship opportunities are limited and a pre-selection process will be necessary to choose students to take part in them.
