PIONEERING

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:19

The GO Centre was not a name chosen by accident. YWAM Brisbane’s theme embodies the Great Commission, as well as the theme of training up disciples who GO and train up more disciples. YWAM Brisbane has served as a forerunner in disciple-making by sending out dozens of young leaders who have pioneered new YWAM ministries in areas where there is the most need.

Over its 30 year history, YWAM Brisbane has pioneered numerous ministries in Australia and beyond. YWAM Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay and Whitsundays (all strategic holiday and backpacker destinations on Australia’s East Coast) were all birthed out of our Brisbane centre.

Within the Frontier (unreached) nations, our centre has established ministries in the Pacific Islands, East Asia, Central Asia, East Africa and on the sub-continent of India. Even now, we have teams going out to start new works in European cities and Southeast Asian villages.

Most of these teams have been trained and commissioned from our School of Leadership and Mission (also known as “School of Frontier Missions”)—a three month post-DTS training program for those who wish to engage in long-term cross cultural ministry. The aim of the school is to train up passionate and dedicated leaders who are equipped with the tools they need to thrive in long-term missions around the world.
