In the human body, the backbone serves the purpose of strengthening and supporting the structure of the entire system. Without the backbone, everything falls apart! The same is true for our backbone staff here at YWAM Brisbane. We call them backbone staff because they are part of the core team that strengthens our base by fulfilling the day to day logistical tasks that keep our centre running safely and smoothly.Often working “behind the scenes,” these backbone staff include those facilitating the kitchen, maintenance, , hospitality, accounts, reception, registrar, IT, communications, and administration.

Although their work often goes unseen, these staff central to keeping our ministry operating in the highest level of excellence. We value these staff just as much as the active disciplers and evangelists. Whether someone is leading worship or washing dishes, it makes no difference—we believe that both are spiritual acts and both are significant contributions of ministry here at YWAM Brisbane (Col. 3:17)
