MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS
In the last 20 years there has been a dramatic shift in the way that we are able to connect and communicate with the world. The introduction of the internet has given us huge advances into the different ways that we are able to communicate.
With the introduction and steady rise of blogging, twittering and social networking, and the ability to freely upload music, photos and video content to the web, our opportunities are increasing daily to use the web and these tools to empower us in the area of communications.
Reaching the unreachable, sharing the love of God, helping to disciple nations, and bringing unity to the Church, are just some of things that we can accomplish through these tools.
Here at YWAM Brisbane we are passionate about using media and communications to serve YWAM & the wider Church body and to connect with those that don't yet know Christ.
Within our communications department we have developed a number of websites for local Churches and Christian ministries. Recently we were involved in the website design and communications campaign for a local Christian politician running for election.
We are currently working on a site to serve the wider community here in Mitchelton. This project which involves the local council, residents and business owners is proving to be a really great outreach into our local community.
Within YWAM, we have developed a number of websites for different YWAM training bases. We also just launched ywammusic.net, which is a networking website dedicated to bringing unity to those involved in music ministry across YWAM. We are currently working on a new website for YWAM Arts and we are hoping to bring an increased unity throughout the arts in YWAM through this site.
It's exciting to see how God is working in and through our department and to see what doors he has been opening for us of late. If you have a heart to use your gifts and talents within the area of media and communications, we'd love for you to come and be a part of our team here in Brisbane.
