Do you have a worldview?
Whether or not we realize it, we all have certain beliefs that affect the way we live life and view reality. A worldview is like a set of lenses which taint our vision and alter the way we perceive the world around us. Our worldview is formed by our education, our upbringing, the culture we live in, the books we read, the media and movies we absorb etc. For many people their worldview is simply something they have absorbed from their surrounding cultural influences. They have never thought strategically about what they believe and wouldn't be able to give a rational defense of their beliefs to others.
Romans 12:2 says "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."
In the School of Biblical Worldview (SBCW) we want to question our perspective and come to terms with the Biblical understanding of reality. On the basis of this, we want to train Christians to be able to take responsibility in all areas of society and life. Do you believe God has a plan for politics, economics, family, ethics, philosophy, education, psychology...? Join us to discover the often untapped depths of God's truth and its ability to transform the whole of life...and every nation!
This school is for you if...
1. You want to see nations discipled in the truths of God's Word and want to know where to begin, or
2. You want to study at University or go into a “secular” job but don't know how exactly to go about this in a Biblical way, or
3. You have deep questions that you wrestle with and don't know whether God has the answers, or
4. You have an interest in reaching out to people of different worldviews but find yourself lacking a foundational understanding of what they believe.
What do we cover?
The SBCW curriculum covers a variety of science and humanities disciplines, looking at each from a Biblical perspective. Each week is taught by a different speaker specifically equipped to teach in a particular discipline and provide valuable discipleship for our students in their area of expertise. Together we will explore what God is doing and wants to do in science, history, psychology, the arts, ethics, philosophy, environmental/global issues and politics. We will also delve into the beliefs of other major worldviews, including atheism, New Age, postmodernism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism, with the purpose of reaching the nations more effectively.
